Austroads and the National Transport Commission have put forth the new Commercial Vehicle Drivers Medical. This came into effect on 1st October 2016.
Main Roads Western Australia will still accept Commercial Vehicle Driver Medicals based on Assessing Fitness to Drive 2012 for Western Australian Heavy Vehicle Accreditation for medical records prior to this date. Beyond this date, all operators must ensure that their drivers comply with the medical standards as outlined in the 2016 edition of Assessing Fitness to Drive is effective from 1 October 2016.
Operators under WAHAV Fatigue need to adhere with these changes as soon as practical to ensure you comply with the medical requirements.
