On March 6 2016 the limited extension of the National Work Diary Exemption for 100km work under Basic Fatigue Management or Advanced Fatigue Management in New South Wales (Notice) 2014 (No. 1) will expire. All drivers, (including those in New South Wales) working under BFM and AFM must carry and complete a National Driver Work Diary, even when they are working within a 100 km of their base from March 7 2016.
Elite Compliance Consulting is advising that any company that is accredited and operating under NHVAS Basic Fatigue Management, who have drivers who are operate under Basic Fatigue system, will be required those drivers to complete a National Driver Work Diary page every day they work post 6th March 2016.
As advised by NHVR, the exiting Notice is expiring on 6th March 2016. Operators must commence the driver education process and operators should commence this as soon as practical. Company’s need to ensure there is no confusion between drivers and drivers are to comply with the new changes and don’t enforce liability onto the company by not complying.
